On my 2 ½ hour drive in to work this morning (Aaaahhhhh!!! Gotta love Route 28!), I was drinking my green smoothie and thinking about how good it was…and how little fruit I now add to it. I guess this was particularly on my mind because some of my students asked me to teach them to make “smoothies like I drink.” I laughed to myself, and thought, “there is no way they would drink this!” And, the truth is, a few years ago, I never would have, either. So, I started to think about how I got my tastes to change so much. And, while I sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic (not at all moving), I found the following list that can give you ideas as to how you can improve your palate if you seem to crave things that aren’t healthy for you.

I would say that the top three things I did to change my palate was:
1) Retry foods again and again…and eat them even if you don’t like them. You eventually will.
2) With my smoothies, I started with a lot more fruit and a lot less greens….and then slowly I have worked it up to almost all greens.
3) Think CHOPPED salads. I don’t know why, but it just makes it more palatable.
Hope you find these tips helpful!
