Ann Wigmore (1909 – 1994) was a Lithuanian–American "holistic health" practitioner and raw food advocate. She studied at the Hippocrates Health Institute of Boston. Ann Wigmore stated it well when she said, "The food that you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison." For a woman who was born in 1909, she was WAY ahead of her time, in my opinion! I wonder what she would think of the state of our food, wellness, and healthcare system now!
It makes me sad to think how true that statement was back then already...and I wonder if she had any idea as to how bad it would get. I wish that there was no reason to have to buy organic produce and responsibly-raised meats.  All food should be raised organically and naturally. The truth, when you start to dig into the facts, however, is that you have to be careful about everything that you put into your mouth. Choose well and eat how God intended us to eat...and you will be well.
If you are starting to think at all about where your food comes from, I recommend the documentary, Food, Inc. it is from 1994, but it still holds true to the problems with our food industry today. Make a choice to become educated about your food. You can view the entire documentary on YouTube....or the Hampton Library carries it. Being uneducated about the food that you put into your mouth is a choice to influence your health negatively. I have heard so many people tell me, "I just don't want to know." I understand that philosophy because I lived it for 36 years....but, in my situation, I believe that I am paying for my choice of ignorance with a future of fighting Multiple Sclerosis for the rest of my life. This knowledge is incredibly hard to swallow....but it is also incredibly empowering. With God's help....I will fight with the "most powerful form of medicine."
In Christ,
Gail
